Say It Three Times Fast

Dec. 8th, 2010

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Slytherin Coaster

So when I did this last Sunday, it fell apart after ironing and I was majorly sad face about it, because I loved the color combos. Today I came up with the idea of making the piece that was missing, melting it, then fitting the two together. And.....it worked! :D

Ravenclaw Shield Coaster

I was a little nervous today before going on my first date with Mike, so I decided to unidle my hands and do the next coaster in the set...Ravenclaw!

I did make a mistake on this one, but since this set is for my own use and it's not THAT bad, I kept and went with it...lol.

Perler Beads....Attempt #1

Took my first stab at working with perler beads today. I'm very happy with how this came out, and now that I know how to iron them right I think the other three coasters in the set will come out even better! Bonus points if you recognize it as the Hufflepuff Shield! ;) Edited To Add: ----> http://www.flickr.com/photos/48445741@N04/5149816910/ Link because InsaneJournal is not happy with me for some reason! :P

Just Plain Clucky

There was an article in the paper yesterday that made me do a happy dance when I read it. Our city has passed an ordinance that will help me take up a hobby that will help my anemia and maybe help me earn a small amount of cash on the side.

Two words: Backyard Chickens

*squee* So I have enough yard to build a small coop and house four hens. My father is already knocking around building plans, but I want to do it on my own. My mother remains skeptical, but does agree the poop would be great for the garden and fresh eggs from chickens that scratch in grass and eat bugs would be better.

So this spring...maybe I'll get to bring home some chickies when Tractor Supply has "Chick Days". *happy dance* I wanted to homestead...so why wait until I move into the country? A quarter acre can mean four chickens and a big vegetable garden, and that's a darn good start!

Thanksgiving....

Okay, so maybe it wasn't a Martha Stewart holiday. I wore a sweatshirt and jeans to the table instead of a fancy dress. There was a football game in the background along with the occasional bark of a dog. But when I looked around the table at the faces with me, I realize what it truly is to be thankful. And when the golden brown turkey hits the table it doesn't matter if it's a Kodak moment or not...these are truly the ordinary miracles of the holidays.

Hilson Vs Huddy

Okay, so I didn't post more last night. The power didn't go out, but I got tired. My bad. To make up for that, here's a post BEFORE House about a House topic:

An apology....

I just want to apologize to my friends and anyone else who has been reading this journal for murdering the LJ cuts in my last few posts.  I honestly have no clue what went wrong! FAIL :(

Oh, and I plan on writing something more interesting later, after I work on my new journal header, but if I don't it's because we're getting this really nasty, heavy, drizzly type snow and we live close enough to the country that we get a good share of power outages. Hopefully we won't this time, because it's really freaking cold! Last summer we had a record power outtage of 68 HOURS. Keep your fingers crossed for me! There's a few fics I want to finish tonight/tomorrow!

Now, for a word from our sponsers.....
